We are delighted to announce that, starting from July 2024, MINT LIST will manage the global communication strategy for the artist Leiko Ikemura who has been working in Berlin and on the road, creating a unique body of artworks since the 1980s.

Featuring motifs such as animals, plants, water, sea, people, and horizons, Leiko Ikemura’s work delves into the genesis of worlds through a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, poetry and performance.

She bridges outer appearances of objects with subjects’ inner workings, drawing inspiration from literary moments and personal experiences.

We are also pleased to announce that Leiko Ikemura is now officially represented by Lisson Gallery.

She will present a solo exhibition for its booth at Frieze London this October, while her first exhibition with the Lisson Gallery will be held at its New York location in the Spring of 2025.

Until August 8th, 2024, the HEREDIUM museum in Daejeon, South Korea, is featuring the solo exhibition “Light on the Horizon” which focuses on artworks belonging to the last decade and on the Horizon, one of her main artistic motifs.

This summer, Leiko Ikemura’s installation “With Blue Birds” including sculptures, painting and a poetry on the wall, is on display at the Palais Populaire, a permanent venue by the Deutsche Bank Collection and an international forum for art and culture at the heart of Berlin.

Moreover she has forthcoming solo shows at the Kunsthalle Emden in Germany (November 23, 2024 – March 23, 2025), Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (December 2024), and the Bündner Kunstmuseum, Chur (2025). Source by Leiko Ikemura. Source by Leiko Ikemura.
