Habitus invites you to join us at Caroma on Collins for an evening of discussion into all things design as part of our House of the Year celebrations.
From signature cocktails infused with native Australian botanicals to a panel talk centred on the theme ‘Unpacking Australian aesthetics’, the night is set to unfold in style.
So who are the people who’ll be up on stage? Capturing a cross-section of knowledge and thinking, we’ll have:
Eva-Marie Prineas
Eva-Marie is the founder and principal of Studio Prineas. Eva-Marie’s work is sophisticated and refined, with a deep respect and passion for heritage conservation and sustainable design. The Studio Prineas philosophy is centred on understanding and adapting places that are already special.
Her award-winning approach to design stems from an intuitive understanding of what to keep and what to cleverly adapt in her projects. She prides herself on her studio’s collaborative skills and personally invests in client relationships to ensure each project is a combined effort with a shared vision.
Dr Michael Mossman
Michael Mossman is a Kuku Yalanji man, born and raised in Cairns on Yidinji Country. He now lives and works on Gadigal land and is a lecturer and researcher at the University of Sydney School of Architecture Design and Planning where he has been awarded his Doctor of Philosophy with the topic of his thesis: ‘Third Space, Architecture and Indigeneity.’
Michael is also a registered architect who champions Country and First Nations cultures as agents for structural change in the broader architectural profession at educational, practice and policy levels.
Stavroula Adameitis (aka Frida Las Vegas)
Stavroula Adameitis is an Australian artist known for her bold and bombastic Pop Art fashion designs, neon light artworks and immersive installations working under the alias FRIDA LAS VEGAS.
Inspired by her memories growing up in suburbia during the 1980s and 1990s, Stavroula remixes nostalgia with a graphic sensibility to create an explosive statement across visual art, fashion, homewares and accessories.
Andy Grigor
Andy Grigor is the Head of Design and Innovation at GWA, a market-leading designer, and manufacturer of bathroom and kitchen products for the Caroma, Methven, Clark, and Dorf brands. Andy’s professional career has spanned over 20 years’ originating with the design-led brand, Fisher & Paykel. He honed his skills by creating a diverse mix of products ranging from furniture and lighting to mass-manufactured small appliances and electronics for brands such as Breville, Sunbeam and LG. His work has received wide recognition and industry design awards both locally and internationally.
Andy is fuelled by curiosity and an enthusiastic passion for design, with an eye for detail and a focus on making ideas happen.
If that wasn’t enough to inspire, one lucky guest will also go home with a door prize – a Liano II Pull Down Sensor Sink Mixer with Dual Spray.
