Proposal of Professional Examination for the registration with the Council of Architecture

Council of Architecture in a proposal for Comprehensive Amendments to the Architects Act 1972 has proposed the revised procedure for the registration of Architects.

CoA has proposed a professional examination for the registration with the council.

As per the proposed amendment on council’s website, “The Council shall constitute a Board to conduct professional examination for registration of architects.” and “professional examination” means an examination conducted by the Council for granting registration/ Certificate of Practice;

Architecture student has to  complete 1 year training under a registered architect, firm of architects or limited liability partnership of architects having minimum 5 years of standing, after obtaining the recognised qualification and qualifying the professional examination conducted by the Council.

After passing the professional examination conducted by the Council, all applications for registration shall be addressed to the Registrar of the Council and shall be accompanied by such fee as may be prescribed by rules.
